Subject: RE: "Orientated" is not a word.

Can we move past these pedantic complaints? If one complains about the usage of the word "orientate," then the complaint must be made for the usage of idioms and phrasal verbs: "will go a long way" (Last sentence of Steve Eley's original complaint). This statement is verbal sewage to a non-native speaker of English; refrain from these idioms and phrasal verbs if you truly desire a message readable to all, Steve. Moreover, if you had a bad day--which is arguably the cause of your whining--you need not make someone else's day bad too.

If we must get pedantic: "I'm glad of that;" you are glad for this; this causes you glee; you are not glad despite it. Additionally, "of" is a preposition and takes a pronoun in the "Object of a Preposition" case as its object. "I'm glad for this" is how one as anal as you should write this clause.

How do you like being attacked? Now imagine spending ten (or more) times as much time as you spent on your miserly comment just to be attacked for pedantic grammar mistakes.

Respectfully,
-Ted
