By: Gaddo Subject: RE: dynamically assigned IPs That’s a different issue to someone going via an open proxy (in which case, you don’t care what the IP is as much as if it’s open or not). With dynamic IP’s all you can perhaps do is deny IP ranges, based upon your troll’s ISP, but that can be impractical if your site is regional (you could inadvertently deny access to a significant proportion of your potential users/market). Temporary IP range bans can work however, as trolls and other troublemakers have notoriously short attention spans. |
