I'm sorry I had to comment on this poor guys remarks. I used to be an MS boy. I swore by VB and the almighty power of Visual Studio. Then I learned a few things.

I won't go into any of the rest of his post except the last part which mentioned PEAR being "just a database with hacks". That hurt my feelings.

If you've used PEAR, (which I consistently use dozens of classes for each project I work on), you'll discover quickly that it is not a "database" and it is absolutely not "hacked". Some of the finest PHP programmers (I mean the people that actually work on PHP itself) contribute to the CVS tree. It has very usable code that match a fairly strict syntax and bugs are fixed very fast. (Thanks Open Source).

So if you want to criticize PEAR, by all means do so. But know what you're talking about because it makes my head hurt to read ignorant posts.
