Let me hear a reaction from those proponents of IP-based access control. One of our sites (and I am sure there're millions of the alike) is sitting on the box which emulates one and the same IP for the whole partition, probably 200 users. Are you gonna block all 200 of them?
On a related topic. With this mad war between ISP providers in their relentless fight with SPAM, I cannot send my person-to-person mail because the recepient's server identifies my IP as that of a "bad" guy on a black list. In fact, like I explained above, hundreds of users have the same IP, even worse - they often blacklist a relay server which has absolutely nothing to do with the mail source. Now is that the kind of tactics you are proposing with "IP checking"?
