By: Simon Moss Subject: .. a few comments ... ... I've had a few emails about this series of articles .. all gratefully received and aplogiesif I have missed some replies ... I just want to reiterate that there are number of free GIS systems out there which will run on PHP - nearly all of them far better than anything I can create. The purpose of these articles is to give you the ablility to add GIS functionality on parts of your site without having the overhead of a complete system behind it. If you need to plot 3 or 4 items dynamically there is really no point in installing a complete GIS system. By breaking down the articles into logical groups I hope to give people some ideas from which they can expand. As for the next article ... after a number of requests I will show you'z how to create a clickable map without Javascript or lotions ... |
