AOL Domain Block Check The following are the requirements for the AOL block that involves inclusion of a functionality that will perform the following actions when a client attempts to send an email campaign 1) Check if a particular domain exists in the blocked domains list in the database and also if the domain is blocked by AOL. 2) Store the domain if found to be blocked by AOL into the database and alert the client that domain has been blocked by AOL and emails to AOL can not be sent using the control panel. If the domain is not blocked allow the client to send out the campaign. 3) Create an automated process to run on a daily basis to perform a test to verify if AOL has still blocked the domains listed in the database and update the blocked domains list accordingly. AOL has a test specified that allows you to check if a domain is blocked or not. http://postmaster.aol.com/tools/telnet.html The main requirement is to automate this procedure for a list of domains and check for a certain error code (550) which is returned if the domain is blocked. Also, check if there is any other easier way to perform the same check or if aol.com has a list of blocked domains we can use etc. |
