The code will work with strings of any length, and even long strings don't end up using much memory. The encoding is performed in a step-by-step linear fashion, with nothing intermediate getting saved into memory. And as I pointed out to Eugene (see my last comment), session variables are not always a viable option to replace GET variables. In fact they usually aren't. |
