hey... so... after i left my 4th server this year, i hope this odyssey is going to have an end soon...

started with gotos.com who couldnt manage to set up any accounts within 3 months and are now out of business - going to staticdns.com - who ran off with the money after a month after illegally reselling accounts - causing my account to be discontinued as well - then hostrequest.net kicked my next reseller for very weird reasons which brought me to ebizpartner.biz who considered a 70 MB space / 5 GB bw / 10 GB mysql resources consuming web account is ABUSING(!) their unlimited service. so i feel a bit bruised and battered and finally want to hook up with a server which will not cause any more problems.

what i need:

min v1,5 GB space [/B] space - we dont wanna run out of it - just for any eventualities
min 15 GB bandwidth - to be safe
php 4.x + GD lib.
min. 3 mySql 3.23.++ db's
and the usual features like some ftp, email accounts, forwarders, and a backup/restore script for space AND db - preferrably cpanel.

any ideas? - if possible not TOO expensive...

just suggest and post your experiences here...

thanks a lot...

i have 3 webs with these guys and they proved to be most reliable so far [after i left 2 hostings]. what i like most is their ticket support system. usually they reply or do whatever you like to in 6 hours...

but your plan wont be under $20 i think.

hey matjaz - thanks a lot! thats pretty close to what i am looking for. what kind of controlpanel do they use?

cpanel

but if you modify cron jobs in their cpanel you loose all cronjob settings

do it in shell... crontab < yourfile.txt

you will now learn that its better to work with shell commands sometimes :-)

not that i am linux fan... i dont like to have it for desktop pc, thatswhy i am on win [with tons of programs and photoshop!] and use linux only for hosting.

ive had 3 hosts in the past..

BlueDomino.. decent package.. had "unlimited space" at once.. dont go there..

IceStorm.. very good. i like it. ive been there about 2 years. very good packages. 600 meg disk space, 15 gig transfer monthly, 75 email POPs, 2 SSH accounts, 8 FTP, plus a lot more. runs on UNIX..
they also have reseller plans which seem pretty decent. the pages load very fast, ive seen my page go down MAYBE 3 times in 2 years. very reliable, and cheap, plus good tech support. http://www.icestorm.com

Exa-Bytes.. very good also. at times not as fast as IceStorm, but very good. they offer a bunch of different packages on hosting, and offer LINUX and Windows 2000 servers. i have had a W2K account there for about half a year. cheap prices, awesome tech support, PLUS unlimited subdomains, and a ton of other features. youll have to pay more for like 15 gigs a month on bandwidth, but the other accounts arent that bad.. 1 gig up to 15 gig.. check them out too.. they offer reseller plans also i believe
