Bunkermaster 10-30-2002, 06:35 PM not only strong but lethal clintonium 10-31-2002, 03:06 PM That's it? Coffee or Tea? The dismal array of choices here reminds me of a national election. Somehow I've managed to avoid coffee, even living up here in the cradle of Starbuck's civilization. Just tastes like hot bitter water to me. Tea is marginally better. Now, if you added chai tea to the options, that would be going somewhere. My write-in candidate, though, would probably be some sort of steamer. Perhaps chocolate chip mint. Cogen 10-31-2002, 03:15 PM I'll stick to coffee, irish on the weekends ;) . If you can see through to the bottom of your cup it's not black coffee and is definitely too weak to drink. If you haven't tried it - you really have to get your own fresh roasted beans and grind the stuff yourself just before you make your fresh brew. Oh! the smell is enough to give you goosebumps! And further you shouldn't use a coffee maker - drip style just won't cut it - use a french-style carafe and press. You put your grounds into the bottom of the carafe, pour over the just boiled water and give it all a quick stir before you set the strainer top over it for a few minutes of steeping. After three or four minutes you push down the strainer and pour yourself the best cup of coffee ever. It will have a bit of froth on top and is sure to have a bit of 'mud' in the bottom of the cup. This all assumes you are using the very best coffee - a good french or italian roast, or maybe hawaiian kona or jamaica blue mountain. Happy brews, largo 11-04-2002, 04:44 PM Originally posted by ednark why isn't mountain dew on the list? im confused.... I apologize ednark, that's my fault. Memories of scalding hot liquid into which someone seemed to have accidentally dropped a burned piece of McToast. jeremuck 11-06-2002, 01:30 PM I forget if I already posted about the joys of Italian coffee. But I love it... actually, it's not really coffee, at all, it's espresso, they don't even have drip coffee. mmmmmm I bought a little rise up espresso maker when I was there... they thought I was crazy when I kept filling my cup to the brim with espresso. And, yeah you have to have some mud at the bottom... that stuff can be good too. (sometimes it can be bad *shivers*). Sweet!! what does mine say??!? I haven't posted in awhile... I got in trouble at work... then I got fired. I hated it so much, I'm glad I got fired. I've gone through two jobs since then. And I drank coffee at every one of them. clintonium 11-06-2002, 04:17 PM I received an email filled with factoids the other day, one of them claiming that "eating apples, not drinking coffee, will wake you up better in the morning." Not sure what the rationale behind this is (maybe just that apples require chewing?) and can't seem to verify it elsewhere on the web, but there you have it. alienbaby 11-09-2002, 05:12 PM i drink my coffe black or should i say ethnic without sugar and it's the best drink of the day:D Shadeless 11-19-2002, 10:07 AM what about both..... i start the day with not to strong coffee at home, but when i am at work i start with some thee, the coffee is a bit to strong for me, after that i just vary coffee and thee all day long(depending if i get it myself or if others get it :), meaning am i busy or not busy if i am i will have coffee,if not i take thee, i end the day with coffee later at night/evening.. o well :) coffee all the way :D IWS 11-20-2002, 05:13 PM We all know what American's do with their tea... During recess, kids would chant "coffee, tea, sodapop, pee" while kids were drinking from it. Of course, you didn't want to be the one drinking from the "pee" spigot, or else you would become the laughing stock of the playground. You certainly didn't want someone pointing at you and saying "he likes to drink pee!" That's the sort of thing that can scar you for life. Not that it ever affected me. My therapist tells me it has nothing to do with my social anxiety disorder... vaaaska 10-10-2005, 10:33 AM I don't normally drink coffee anymore...except on holidays, weekends and/or dinner parties for desert. I got back from holidays a couple weeks ago and I've been unable to get it out of my system (keep falling back to put it off for another day). I have the worlds worst migraine today.
