linux apache some page give me file download in internet explorer but not netscape

i am using linux apache.

and after i update the php.ini and http.conf.

i killall httpd and then

httpd restart the apache server.

everything seems fine but a strange thing happens.

in netscape, some file give me javascript error message which is ok, i am going to handle it.

but in internet explorer, these pages instead of give me javascript error, a "file download" window pop up and shows file is downloading automatically without my instruction. but actually nothing is downloading. this window just stay there and shows the file moving from one folder to another.

what is going on? and this file is .htm. nothing should happen like this? why???

anyone has the same problems? it drove me crazy!!!

i have the same site running on pc platform is fine, but on linux, i have a .htm page just pop up a file download window and shows file downloading automatically automatically?

why why why???

how to fix it? plus this is only happens on internet explorer and netscape doesn't have the same problem?

netscape shows me some javascript error warning but otherwise it is fine.
