Hi,

What about a PHPBuilder Newsletter? If your website wasn't that great I would never visit it some time to time.

A website without a Newsletter is a dead site for me.
No more no less :)

That topic came up in August. I'll find out what the current status is.

If I can pull one together what would you like to see in it, other than site updates?

A simple "new article" email would be fine. I don't want PHPBuilder to become an other PHP community: news about everything. Articles & Forums = the PHPBuilder I want.

I've been thinking about an opt in 'notify me when a new article is posted feature'. Would you prefer that?

I was also thinking, if we did the newsletter, we could post a snippet of the week, tip of the week etc.

Everyone is still on holiday, but I've got a note off to the people that can make a weekly NL it happen.

hi!

yes a "notify" would be great! you can simply create your newsletter items from your sitemap, for each section, create a news: article (new & update), code snippet, new question in the FAQ, special events, tips & tricks... this way the newsletter is not just a bunch of news but somekind of newspaper about your website.

Use your sitemap to create your newsletter items

I just sent a note off to see what we can do. I'd like to see it as well.

Hi,

I think It's time for me to congratulate the team for the great job it has done with the new Article Notification feature!

But no one is perfect and I have still a sticky question in my mind... Why did you use a binary text field instead of a simple checkbox ? Yes I'm picky ^^

Thanks again and keep up the good work guys,
JM

I'm using a vBulletin custom field instead of hacking and having to keep up with updates. They only allow for text fields at the moment.

Thanks for the feedback. 150 people have signed up for it in the past 2 weeks. Looks like it's being used :)
