Go to : http://www.firepages.com.au/
then to the download section.
Download PHPDEV file. Once downloaded, just one click and it installs everything you need to run PHP on your desktop windows machine. It installs the files for PHP, MYSQL, APACHE.
I tried it and had everything running in minutes.
Hope you have the same luck.

Here's the easiest best way
1)http://www.apache.org Download the executable and install it, or install from the site.
2)http://www.php.net Download the zip install and unzip it.
3)Follow the 3-4 simple lines in the install.txt to setup PHP with Apache.
4)Restart Apache.
If you would like MySQL with that:
5) Go to http://www.mysql.com download the executable adn install it.
These four easy steps will save you from the "I can't enable this extension" crap that comes with the all-in-one garbage. If you can't install an executable or unzip a file then read, maybe you should look for another career/hobbie.

I agree. I've always had loads of problems getting the extensions to work when using the "all-in-one" installations. I can get an installations on a windows machine in about 2 minutes (not including download time), whereas it takes about 3-4 for the install method.

I had no problems with extensions or anything to work downloading and installing the package in minutes..compared with hours I had already spent trying to get everything working installed and individually.
