Does anyone have any plans or ideas for Valentine's Day? Do you have a special someone? How are you going to make the day special for them?

As for me... I'm not really sure what to do this year. Please help. ;)

Daynah- seems you're not having much luck in the 'ideas' department from the members here :D

How about these?
(Of course it would certainly depend on your location and the weather, personal preferences, and where in your relationship you are, naturally ;) )
- candlelight dinner cooked by you
- tickets to a sporting or music event he would enjoy
- dinner and tickets to a comedy club (fun, unique "date night" kind of thing)
- if you're someplace warm you could rent bikes and go for a picnic in a secluded area
- if you're far into your relationship, you could suggest dinner where you had your first date.
- if you're crafty or artistic you can make him something like a picture frame or pot for a plant or something like that.
- cookies or candy made by you
- if you want to be really romantic, you could suggest a weekend or overnight getaway to someplace within driving distance
- you could get him something less romantic, but that he would think was cool- ebay has some great unique ideas! or if he's into programming, you could try www.computergear.com, www.thinkgeek.com or our very own website <insert shameless plug here LOL> www.giftsforengineers.com (go to computer engineers) We have fun nerdy stuff on our site, like motherboard keychains and t-shirts, etc.

Also, I think if you do something special that you wouldn't normally do, then it will certainly mean a lot to him. Even if it's not romantic particularly - just something that shows you care. Example: my husband is big into his motorcycle and we used to ride together all the time. But since we had our child, I really don't like riding that thing- it makes me way nervous. But for a special occasion such as Valentine's Day, I might suggest we take a ride somewhere (weather permitting- it's still pretty darn cold here) because I know how much he enjoys it. Not too romantic, but it means a lot to him therefore it means a lot to me.

HTH! :D
I'm sure you'll have a great day no matter what you decide to do!

Danielson you could take that and write her a love song or some crap like that and then I bet she would be a lot more receptive to the purchase :D

(expletive deleted) ! Elizabeth, where were you 7 years ago when I bought a new guitar without consulting first??? My wife still reminds me about that one......

And, while we're here, it seems to me I can write a song about almost anything except how much I love her. Do I have writers' block, or need marriage counseling???? ;)

Ok, try this- write a song about how much you love spaghetti or green beans or chocolate ice cream and then insert her name where appropriate :D

Like this:

----------------------------------------------
I like you best in summer
because you are so cold
Without you, it's a bummer
For xxxice creamxxx <insert name here>, I'm not too old.

ooh ooh baby
ooh ooh

Although you're brown and lumpy
and sometimes freeze my tongue
Without you I get grumpy.
Like Maury with no Chung.
---(ok YOU rhyme something with tongue then LOL)---

ooh ooh baby
ooh ooh

In cones you're very yummy
and on bananas too.
When too much hurts my tummy,
it's worth it 'cause it's you.

ooh ooh baby
ooh ooh

----

Ok, then maybe not. :D

Well, LOL!! I could *smack* you (take that in either way, heh, heh)....

The advice about substitution is GREAT!!!!

The line about Maury and Chung, well, I give you credit for much creativity, but your taste is not as good as the ice cream we're talking about :)

What's really amazing is that it didn't take too long for you to write it.........

Or, maybe it's not so amazing.....

I have SOOO much useless information floating around in my brain it's nice to get it out once in a while :D

In fact, I think getting that little ditty out just made room for some important formulas or something... thanks!!
