Does anyone know of any good, free browser-based website content managers? I would expect there to be at least a couple of fine ones written in PHP, but haven't found anything yet.

I have WSDExpress,(www.cyberteams.com/products/wsdexpress/ (http://www.cyberteams.com/products/wsdexpress/)) and paid considerable money for it, but it's closed source and I'm not so impressed.

The objective is to have a way to give clients a way to manipulate (read: screw up) their own web pages by themselves without having SSH or FTP access.

Thanks

One of the best systems I've found for this is from a company called Trellix, who use a system called Trellix Web Express (http://www.trellix.com/products/trellixwebexpress.asp). The interface is a breeze and my clients love it. You dont need to install any third party applets to use it, its just ready to go.

You can buy a licence for x amount of users, which is not too much, especially in light of WSD, but if you want to test it out, you can buy single licences from their sister company (I cant find the link off hand, but if you want it, just ask and ill go on a search :)).

Anyway, its a good service, and the price cant be beat. Hope this helps!

EDIT: I dug up the address for single licences: www.sitebuilderdirect.com.

I've never used it, cos im quite happy to code my own (means I can have all the features I need when I need them), but have you tried PHP Nuke (http://www.phpnuke.org/), because that's open source and therefore free.
