I installed suse linux on my sun machine.. came with php 4.0.6
I downloaded, compiled and installed php 4.3 but apache still using old version of php.
How do I tell apache to use new version of php?
thxs for any help in advance.

did you make sure that you installed it to the same directory as the old version, and then check in your httpd.conf file to see if it is pulling php from the correct place, remember when making changes to php/apache, restart apache(not the whole server) to ensure changes have taken affect

I installed into the untarred dir /usr/share/php-4.3xxx
just for kicks, i cp php-4.3xxx to the /usr/share/php directory and restarted apache. doing the php info still shows i am using php 4.0.1

Come to find out... I have to reinstall apache.
I originally installed suse linux 7.3 and it came with apache and php 4.0.6. BUT apache does NOT have apsx on the box....arrggggggggg.
