How to Open Source a System

So, I've written this fairly nice Gallery system in PHP and MySQL. Works well, IMO.

What I would like to do is open source it, but I've worked on it for several months, and am currently in a financial bind. $500-750 would go a long way towards recouping my losses and getting me food for college.

Does it Sound Feasible to set up a system that would make it Open Source upon the determined-upon sum being collected?

What would the donors get? An autgraphed CD Backup of the system? :p

there are always scripts of that source for free, and i think that you will have a hard time getting any money if you force a payment, you would be better off asking for donations, that is how a lot of peeps get paid when they write their scripts and want some money to go along with the satisfaction of creating a decent enough script to give away like that
