We're getting complaints from a few end-users who try to access a directory on our web site that is protected by htaccess/htpasswd. The complaints are inevitably from people accessing the site using their AOL account and the AOL browser. They keep getting the password prompt as if they are entering the wrong password and then finally a login failure message.

Does anyone know about this particular situation with AOL's browser and htaccess/htpasswd? Our server type is Microsoft IIS//5.0.

Thanks for your help!

AOL works fine with our htaccess protected sites. Make sure they have the most recent Windows updates, one that came out about a month ago broke user authentication (any user on windows would constantly be prompted for a username and password when they hit a protected site) so M$ had to release another patch to fix what the previous patch broke.
