I find it ironic that the people here in the US allow our government to treat us like subjects/slaves!
Many congressman are talking about passing legislation which would put women in jail for having an abortion.
Go figure? is the woman the property of the govrnment? Obviously yes since the government seems to be able to do whatever the hell it wants.
What a sad state. So much for individual freedom...

poor baby... little pHpLord here doesn't like the fact that he can practice any religion he wants to, vote, and own a gun.
Legally, congress is allowed to pass laws on anything that doesn't go against the constitution... and putting women in jail for what can be argued as murder does not go against said constitution
altough... if they really want a law passed they can allways ammend the constitution, so there goes the whole idea of a constitution right out the window.
Now if congress passes the abortion legislation it still has to pass by the executive and judicial branches... though I can certainly see the lapdog of the right wing... I mean the great warmonger... um... rather... president bush signing the anti abortion laws the second it lands on his desk... But I can't see the supreme court (in its infinite wisdom?) not throw this one right out the window...
Worst case, though... women will just refuse to have sex with any of us untill the democrats regain power and scratch this one out the lawbooks....

You won't catch the U.S. Government treating me like a slave anytime soon...

IIRC, my right to swing my fist ends at the tip of your nose.
And a woman's right to her own womb is fine; but if someone else is living in it, he/she's not to be evicted without "due" process (pun intended...)
Gripe all you want. Murder's wrong.

I don't see you pining over all the dead chickens we eat... or artichokes for that matter
and since when is a fetus a human being? as far as I know, medically (as well as religiously... judaism anyway) a fetus is not a human being for something like 3 weeks....
