java manual

Not sure where this belonged (possibly on an entirely different site :) ), but am looking for something along the lines of the PHP help manual (i.e. downloadable windows help manual), and have been unsuccessful. Does such a thing exist, if so, it would be much help, am trying to learn Java (in preparation for a compsci course at Warwick), and am bored of making DOS say "Hello World" :D

Any ideas anyone?
