Oracle 8
--with-oci8 option on build.
Could someone point to some documemtation to help me locate the libs or client that must be installed? This is the most cryptic POS I have tried to do, to date.

have you checked the manual (http://www.php.net/oci8)

What do you think?
Does it say in there ' install oracle using this... ' or 'download the oracle lib here ' .
Why don't you point out the part in the manual that helps me.
You will need the Oracle8 client libraries to use this extension. Windows users will need at least Oracle version 8.1 to use the php_oci8.dll dll
No, that don't help, WHERE do I get the Oracle8 client libraries
You have to compile PHP with the option --with-oci8[=DIR], where DIR defaults to your environmment variable ORACLE_HOME.
thats great, again no help
Runtime Configuration
I need to install it first...
Oracle 9 info, some example code, what is supposed to help me here?
Your post came of arrogant, I know how to RTFM, if its there, point it out, because I don't see it.

well then STFW (http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=WHERE+do+I+get+the+Oracle8+client+libraries&ei=UTF-8)
do you think we just know everything, we search and find the answers for you using the methods we tell you to use

If you do not know, then don't post!
I know how to use google thanks, the problem is, it did not find much of anything, besideds posts to forums asking the same thing with no answers.
Why in god's name waste your time and mine by posting if you don't know the answer?

to ensure you are doing your job, before wanting me to do it for you, and i have a lot of time
chill out, you should know by now that STFW and RTFM are not to be meant as arrogant, but a simple way of telling people what to do
it is used very often and if you are offended, maybe you lighten up

from what i've read and from "searching", the libraries should come with oracle when you get it
