Hi all

To start with we have a dedicated server running Redhat 9, Apache 2.0.40, Mysql 3.23.54, PHP 4.2.2,ssl and firewalls. We a large amount of RAM(1GB) and two dual intel xenon 2.8 GHZ processors. our server is located in USA and runs a large amount of data(images) stored in mysql. We access it from a very very distant place. We are facing very slow performance. We can dedicate maximum resource to server as it is mainly used for running our site.
What can be done to enhance the performance?

Thanks in advance

for one, i would suggest you change the code that is storing the images in mysql db, just store the filename and path in mysql, and the actual image on the filesystem, other than that, you shouldn't be having any problems

You have also taken into consideration the bandwidth of your link to the server?.
The specs you give should easily saturate almost any broadband pipe/100mbit ethernet.
