Help! Problems with Mozilla 1.4 install

Help! I am trying to install Mozilla 1.4 on my RedHat Linux 7.0

I tried to install it but it said that I needed glibc.2.2.4 or higher.
So I tried to upgrade it but it said that I need to upgrade glibc-common.
So I tried to upgrade that and it said that I need rpm 4.04 or higher.
So I tried to upgrade that. Now its saying that I have dependencies issues with upgrading.

Can anyone help me with this? If I was to install the packages with --nodeps would that work or what?

Move this to the echo lounge cos I don't think it's got much to do with PHP.

Maybe you should consider upgrading your entire OS. RH 7.0 is getting rather stale, perhaps you'd be better served by RH8/9 or maybe something uber-current/stable: Gentoo :)

I agree with goldbug. If you upgrade past 8 then you can use up2date to keep you updated (it works with 7, but you can't upgrade to 8 with it, last time I checked).

Also, you can install mozilla with up2date, so it'll check depenencies as well.

I have RedHat 8 as well as 7. How do I upgrade to 8? I don't want to mess up any of my current installations though.
