I'm looking for something free or cheap (as in, under 20 to 30 dollars) in a Content Management System that will get me started learning.

I've downloaded Typo3 and will look into it some more this week, but how about some other recommendations? I'd be more than happy to see some very simple CMS's that have limited features so that I could pick through them to see how they work, but it would be nice to get a range of them to compare and play with.

php-nuke or post nuke are two popular choices

Have you gone to hotscripts.com? They have everything categorized for you, and rated. Try a few (http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Content_Management/index.html) of those out, and then you can see if anyone here has opinions about specific ones. If you ask "what do you recommend" you will get about as many different opinions as you do responses.

Whoah, I didn't realize there were so many out there. I'll start picking through those and see what strikes my fancy.

Thanks for the link
