I personally don't like icons. I only use them so that BuzzLY doesn't go ballistic on me.

if you don't use them you can't tell what a person's emotions are

you can read a sentence with emphasis on different parts and it will SEEM like it has different emotions than the intended message

on of my favs :) and one of the mods there who is "anti-trolls" always has some fanny ass ones about trolls in his sigs... I didnt stay on long enough to see what his current one is though....
