weird thread idea courtesy of another thread here in the EL
No, there isn't a tacobuilder.com, read on....
I've noticed that various family and friends all have their preferred way of ordering the additional of ingredients to their taco(s) when we have a "taco night" and build them at our house. At home, you get a choice, unlike your local Taco Tico (or whatever, heh, like that name?). So, I started a thread to discuss Mexican food.
Probably it'll fade away real quick, but oh well. What goes on first? What goes on at all? What's great, what's not!? Post your preferred taco build here!

Corn tortilla, fake-meat ;), lettuce, tomatoes, cheese on top. No sour cream, black olives or onions.
We do the taco bar here too, and I usually cook some seasoned ground beef, and seasoned ground un-beef just so all the bases are covered. :)

Back on topic if there is such a concept here :)
A couple pounds of good carne asada from the local carniciera down the street.
Chop up cilantro, sweet onions, tomatoe, grate some cheese, cut up some lime wedges, and some sour cream and good salsa verde.
Cook up the meat, heat up some tortillas (corn or flour take your pick or better yet, alternate), ladle on the meat, grab fingerfulls of the other stuff, spoon some sour cream and salsa verde over it, and enjoy!
dalecosp
10-11-2003, 01:50 AM
Well, you sound like an experienced taco builder. What street is the carciniera <sp? ---excuse my hillbilly naivete> down?
dalecosp
10-11-2003, 02:12 AM
Yeah, I'm guessing that'd be carniciera, like maybe butcher shop or something? What'd I say, 'oncologist's office'?

I'm not a Spanish speaker, but here in Southern California carniceria's are small grocery stores, often with their own specialty marinated meats and other goodies.

Give me a taco with some well seasoned ground beef, lots of cheddar cheese and a helathy dosing of tabasco sauce and you hvae the perfect taco, there is no need to add flavorless vegetables to the perfect meal
