Oh, and it can be downloaded: http://texturizer.net/firebird/download.html Moonglobe 10-16-2003, 01:07 AM the windows d/l link's not workin :( laserlight 10-16-2003, 01:14 AM hmm... probably still lagging since it was only released yesterday and many people are bound to wake up and start downloading it. Moonglobe 10-16-2003, 01:15 AM just got it off mozilla.org FTP :D pyro 10-16-2003, 09:51 AM Yep, browsing with it right now... :) Hoping that a few of the bugs I noticed in 0.6.1 have been fixed... ;) elToro 10-17-2003, 12:34 PM Got the new version for my WinXP box and my RH9 box. I'm digging it. Moonglobe 10-17-2003, 06:30 PM the current lack of themes is disappointing, texturizer seems to have cut many...... is it a compatibility issue? jayant 10-18-2003, 01:36 PM It loads up pretty quickly. faster than IE as it seems to me. i have added lots of plugins/extensions and cannot see any difference in speed (good that they are not bogging it down). loving the rendering. pretty nice. though i dont like the way it handles some form elements. the textarea, buttons are something I feel could have been done better. its been just 2 hours and its my default browser now :D bye! bye! IE... IE... Yep, Firebird is what if finally took for me to dump IE. I was no big fan of IE's CSS support (or lack thereof) and no fan of M$ (surprise, surprise) but every other browser that I tried had little quirks that were enough of a pain to keep me from switching... Can't wait for it to hit the release version at 1.0 BuzzLY 10-20-2003, 01:31 AM I'm using it, but when I load up PHPbuilder, the Flash ads cause the pages to slooooowww doooowwwn. It's a bit annoying. Moonglobe 10-20-2003, 01:32 AM then get the flash blocker extension.... i have it, it's quite useful. you have to click on flash for it to download. LordShryku 10-20-2003, 01:34 AM I love that extension. Comes in quite handy here :D laserlight 10-20-2003, 01:59 AM Originally posted by Moonglobe the current lack of themes is disappointing, texturizer seems to have cut many...... is it a compatibility issue? Well, the theme maintainers need to adjust their themes, and some are either too busy, or in the case of the Phoenity themeset, do not have the technical know-how, only the design skills. goldbug 10-20-2003, 10:49 AM Originally posted by laserlight Well, the theme maintainers need to adjust their themes, and some are either too busy, or in the case of the Phoenity themeset, do not have the technical know-how, only the design skills. Wish they'd hurry up and release updates... I miss my Orbit 3+1. (Broken on Mozilla 1.5 as well) The Chancer 10-20-2003, 11:36 AM Looks good, and I do like the feel... Doesn't seem to like javascript dropdown menus though.... Not quite my default browser as yet... although I wouldn't mind making it so if only they worked.... (yes it is enabled...) goldbug 10-20-2003, 11:57 AM Originally posted by The Chancer Looks good, and I do like the feel... Doesn't seem to like javascript dropdown menus though.... Not quite my default browser as yet... although I wouldn't mind making it so if only they worked.... (yes it is enabled...) Sounds like an issue with the code/website to me. I've seen/coded plenty of Javascript/ECMAscript dropdown menus that work in the Gecko Engine (aka, adhere to W3C DOM) pyro 10-20-2003, 12:01 PM Indeed. It's not the browsers fault that web developers use proprietary M$ crap... The Chancer 10-20-2003, 12:01 PM Very odd, I did doubt my code on it, so tried it on another as well, still no joy... If you know of a site that has dropdowns that do work with Firebird let me know so I can see what code they are using ??? Mine does check out though, so dunno... odd... goldbug 10-20-2003, 12:13 PM http://www.webreference.com/dhtml/hiermenus/ Google is a helpful tool. Weedpacket 10-21-2003, 04:39 PM http://brainjar.com/ has a nice JS menu. piersk 10-21-2003, 06:18 PM Nice menu. Good that they show how to do it too. The Chancer 10-22-2003, 05:48 AM Well - I took the advice and tweaked my menu (based on the brothercake.com example) - and it works now... the other site still doesn't... but hey ho - its only my companies corporate website - so I am not that suprised !!! Success - and it is now my default browser :D  PHP Builder
