Alright, I got this power supply today. Now I assume something here and I don't know if I am correct in this assumption.

Is there some step I am missing here:

1) Plug power cord into PSU
2) Plug power cord into socket
3) Turn power supply on

I expect the next rational thing to happen is for the powersupply to turn on. Is there something I am missing here. If not I am going to be ticked off that this thing I bought doesn't work (brand new).

Generally, on a modern ATX power supply, the switching is accomplished via the motherboard.

Did you hook the PSU to a motherboard and case and press the power button?

Hrrm...well my steps go as follows...

1) Plug power supply into motherboard (every one I have encountered has two places to plug into)

2) Ensure 115V is selected if applicable

3) Plug the thing into the wall (If you can't figure this out, you got problems)

4) If there is an on/off toggle on the power supply, flip it on

5) Power on computer
