Just curious if anyone knows some good books to learn electronics.

Also, I know that BIOS chips are EEPROMs, but does anyone know any specific models? I am thinking about building a chip programmer based on some schematics I found for building one for a PIC programmable chip.

drawmack, drawmack, drawmack. You have to diversify man. If you are a hardware guy, learn some software, and vice versa. Besides, this is the off topic forum. I figured someone might have at one time or another wanted to build (from scratch) a BIOS chip programmer. Very useful if you ever get a virus that infects the BIOS or you just improperly flash it.

oh you mean like the classes I had to take in assembler, operating systems, computer organization, etc. to get my bachelors in computer sciences?

I don't like working with hardware. I find it annoying and bothersome. If you don't believe me ask my fiancee. If I come home from working on a clients network all day she sends me to my office to program so I can cheer up.
