For my new site I have some files that only run on linux, but although i want to use linux (it's so much better than windows) i have no space on my Hard Drive. I have these files but in a .tar.gz compressed file, but i need it unzipped and uploaded to my server (my server is linux). What I am looking for is for someone to unzip these files in Linux, then compress them to a .zip file and send them to me. The files are tiny so you could fit them on a floppy and reboot into windows but theres probably a way to use access the files in both OS's i wouldnt know.

Please either e-mail me at jwb666@warpathmod.com or I would prefer if you gave me your MSN address so I can get in touch.

Any help would be omg so much appreciated!

If your problem is the tar.gz,
look for the best program in the MS world, "total commander". (previous name was "windows commander", but they have to change it for copyright raisons...)

This cool program handles the .tar.gz without any problem.

see you

Winzip will also handle tarballs, and there are a bunch of Windows ports of the standard tar and gzip utilities floating around.

Infact, let's see...

or, if you wanna be really stupid, you can write the things in PHP with gzopen()/gzread() etc. that's what i did when i couldnt find a port of bzip2 to windows, and its not all that slow. (well yes it is but that's not the point)

WinRAR also handles a most compression types...
