I was just browsing through the front page of PHPBuilder when I saw a Microsoft ad that said that Linux was 11 to 12% more expensive in 4 out of 5 workload situations (liars!). The ad then rotated to an Linux advocacy ad, sponsored by IBM...strange, dont you think?

I saw that same ms ad. What they don't tell you is that the statistics have a +/- 50% error margin. ;)

goldbug, are you blocking them with an ad blocker or a personal firewall? (you devil, you! :D)

That mini-Eminem is everywhere now.

MozillaFirebird + AdBlock extension = clean browsing.

And where might one find such an extension?

The homepage for it is here (http://adblock.mozdev.org/) and you can find most extensions here (http://texturizer.net/firebird/extensions/).

I don't turn on the ad blocking feature of my firewall because it messes up the layout of the page.

i got a popup today for the first time in awhile...of course, i was using IE 5.2.3 for the mac...i was shocked at first...

it's nice that both Safari and Firebird have built in mechanisms for blocking that stuff...v
