Hello

I have heard there are problems upgrading PHP on servers running Debian.

Can anyone shed any light on this topic?

- Anyone had problems with installing/upgrading/maintaining PHP on Debian servers?

- Do you use apt?

- What issues arise?

- How often is the debian PHP package upgraded?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I've never had problems with it.

Nope

Yup

I had a bit of a problem with MySQL. can't remember how I resolved it, but I think the newest update helped

Well, I have the latest stable version on my server. I think it gets updated pretty quickly

Thanks piersk, a few more questions if you don't mind.

Are you running php and PostgreSQL on the same server?

How many sites does your server run?

Which Debian version is your server running (woody, stable, unstable)?

Is your server running on x86 hardware?

Thanks again
