Ok, you's have permission to diss my site until your wee hearts are content.
Its been out of testing for about a week but if you find anything that doesn't work gimme a shout.

Its a Music/Ringtone/Lyrics ...site @ http://www.biosonik.com/ and if my awesome host finds the power button on the server you may actually get a wee peak at it.

Woo lemme shout about stats, I love pretending I have a geocities site.

It consists of about 60,000 lines of PHP, 70,000 database rows and a clown...no I sent him back

I personally would stay many light years away from a website in which the webmaster himself - yes, you, Biochronik - uses the public forums he created to write messages to his friends along the lines of:

"Hey, a*hole, when ya gonna stop jerkin off and send me that f***in screensaver?"

To get a taste of exactly what awaits you, try this delightful little forum:

Oh, I do miss my high-school days in Scotland. Such sweet memories of the halcyon days of youth ... ya bass.

yeah, my host (just-hosting.com) is great, my uptime is about 1.02% ... in a year.

i'm beginning to think I paid for a little 13 year old twirp to host my site on his 5 year old Pentium 2, 32mb ram computer that he also uses to chat to sad little freaks on yahoo and msn as someone is always there to think of an excuse when I get the need to give abuse.

Never trust a company that has good customer service.

hmm...not one constructive comment and the only thing you's pointed out is the abuse in my forum.

anyway thanks for trying, you's just lack intelligence thats all, it'll probably pass in a few years in the mean time look up these two words:
| constructive | criticism |

so unless someone has anything constructive to say, let me draw an end to this and go help people who have never heard of a friggin manual.

No, I think you'll find that the criticism has been very constructive. No one really likes the design of your site. Perhaps if you were to redesign it and then come back, then you might get something that you want to hear.

Better yet, go redesign it, then don't come back. If you can't take any and all criticism you get, then don't ask for it.

Hmmm.... yeah, what he said is probably better...

Now, now. I'm sorry I posted that thread from the forum, but I thought it was totally hilarious. I wasn't pointing the finger at you.

Graphically it's pretty weak. You have constrained images that don't offer any real focal points. I'm not sure about the image of the two women kissing. The photoshopping is coarse.

The logo - it looks like a scan of something done with a pen and then it's not even readable. I don't know if you did that but it needs work.

Some buttons - "music", "mobile", "forum" are not very readable and the submenu for mobile doesn't dispaly properly on my mac (Safari 1.2).

You've tried to offer some generous white spacing around things but it's not controlled very well - you need to rethink how you place a table or a div into a cell and how to visually bring it out since it's supposedly the important element on a page. Perhaps using lighter border colors in general and then a darker or colored one for highlight things.

Lack of text definition as it all blends together making the eye really lackadazical - need color, padding, etc... Also, you need to choose a different font for your text images - the font you are predominantly using is not too professional or even cool.

I find the footer distracting as it has too many horizontal lines. Reduction is where "design" oftentimes actually begins.

Oh wow, you are using font tags (and with a class too?). You need to brush up on coding styles because font tags are really out. I'm not going to go into the code anymore since looking at html these days is blehhhhhhh for me...

All in all, I think you have a rough draft - and it's not a bad rough draft. It needs work around the edges however. Oftentimes, I find that the rough draft is really only the first departure.

Is this the kind of design review you wanted? I hope that this is more useful for you.

I expected criticism hence the introduction, its the whole point of the topic.

thank you vaaaska, thats actually exactly what I wanted.
cant hone or improve my skills without knowing where it went wrong.

Element, just a word of advice. When you ask for criticism you're often times going to get all kinds of stuff. Just roll with it and take what you need to move forward. I've been doing design for for over half my life now and I still get the most useless critiques from people you could imagine.

Developing a thick skin and having the courage to move forward with your plans is one of the best skills you could ever wish for.

Alright, here are my two cents

Your main page is quite busy. It distracts the eye.
for instance look at the background...all thoses dots!!

Your footer isnt readable as its blend away against the background

The image "register" is a scan for a guess.
Get photoshop and create it again with sharp lines...it now blurs around. even if your a beginner you can create this thing in 5 minutes.

Your news item :
Beastie Boys Cd Installs Virus

keep it....that will get peoples attention

About your main picture on the top...hmmm kinda hard to say
if its the right picture for your site. From the first impression I see first the words...music, ringtones..beasy boys... all kind of music terms. maybe a picture that will reflect more with music will do better.

the words music, mobile and forum are hard to spot.
they also blend away.

Hope you find some interrest things in this...good luck with your site.

The site is highly unorganised you have a stretched image it looks way out of place.

Your navigation looks kiddy like sorry to say it that way but it was the first word to come in mind. And it took me a while to figure that was the navigation i thought it was a motto or something, until i saw forums.

The navigation needs to stand out try to avoid using that type navigation with the drop down menus. Not all browsers support javascript or have it turned off and it will be a very short visit to the site.

Again highly unorganised users shouldnt be required to scroll down the page to find any information and little information it is.

Your Privacy Copy right statement is somewhat invisible try using a different font colour. If someone were too sue you id say they would win as the it isnt exactly visible.
