Hi

I'm looking at getting my own website, I want to have as much disk space as poss and bandwidth or course! I need to have a sql database and FTP access but with a online admin panel (a lot offer this) I want pop3 email. NO BANNERS

Can anyone recomend a site for me to look at, there are heaps out there just wanting to know if anyone will recomend one.

I'm prepared to pay for this as well. But like everyone on this world I want it for as little as I can

Thanks

Hey,

http://www.dimensity.net

Definatly recomended I host my website with them (http://www.guitarad.co.uk) - very good offers, im on bronze and im paying $3.50 a month for unlimited SQL, ftp accounts and loads more. All I ask is you put my name and email in the referer box because I need a new account for image hosting (if you refer somebody they give you a new account :D ).

Thanks. Jack

Name: Jack Mitchell
Email: admin@guitarad.co.uk

EDIT: Website is currently down due to upgrades, they will be up later on.

Guess it really depends on what your going to host and how much your willing to pay.
Why anyone would pay $8 a month for 3 gig of bandwidth beats me.

Although I absolutly hate my host, they do offer quite good packages at a no-bad price but I would recommend looking around and reading a few reports before buying.

I've been using netfirms ( http://www.netfirms.com ) small business plan 10 bucks a month, and you get a lot for it, tons of space, transfer, 10 msyql databases, 100 pop email accounts, etc. They'll even register your domain name for free. I've been really happy with them and have used them for al ong time now. But like elementaluk said, it depends on what you are looking for, there are tons of good hosting companies out there.

lol... I do have my own personal server, but not for public use. I was just teasing you since you said "me and myself." I don't know if Dutch people say this, but Americans often use the term "Me, myself, and I," usually in cheeky selfishness. I'm sure the joke gets lost in translation :D

it gets lost a bit yes, but i know what you mean. i meant kinda the same thing actually :) hehe

I've been using DataFly.Net (http://www.datafly.net) for quite a while and have had nothing but good experiences with them. Definitely not the "cheapest" hosting in the world but well worth the extra few bucks for the peace of mind :-)

Hi All,

Just as a follow up, I went with http://www.penguinhost.net and to be honest they are crap it's been over a week and I still do not have a website working and I can not even FTP, log on, look at emails, my domain name it not working and to top it off there after sales support is very bad . I get very little replies. I have no idea when this will be fixed.

DO NOT GO WITH THEM

Cheers

Then i highly recommend: get a refund asap and find yourself a good one...

Dont look at the "sell talk" to lure you in their business (words like 99% uptime and all that crap :) )
but rely on other peoples experiences... works for me :)

im on flexwebhosting.nl with 3 standalone domains and some subdomains... all working fine almost no downtime and quick en fair support :)

www.flexwebhosting.nl :D

I recomend www.fgvhost.net it is free, has unlimeted bandwidth, 50megs, php, mysql, perl, direct admin, ftp access, phpmyadmin.

You have to post 50 times in there forum first.

Note: They do experience allot of downtime, for example it is down right now (at the time of me writing this).

well it does not have allot of downtime really, it just isn't that reliable, but on the positive side it has lot of good features. Plus it is free so you can't expect to much.
