Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : PHPBuilder 'new' page title & breadcrumbs really awkward

Not sure where to post this - or how to feedback directly to the site admin(s) - but...

Does anybody else find it clunky that the page title of every page in this forum starts off with "PHPBuilder.com manuals, content management systems, scripts, classes and more."?

It makes for some huge long bookmarks. Ditto with the breadcrumb trail at the top of the content. It used to just be "PHPBuilder > PHP Help > General Help > etc." Of course I can edit bookmark titles, but that seems contrary to the idea of this as a site that exists to make life easier, not more complicated.

It feels like a big ad. Reminds me of when you call some megacorp and they answer the phone "Thank you for calling MegaCorp, Inc., your total solution providers for content leveraging through collateral obfuscation, my name is Shelia, how may I direct your call?" - at which point you're already in a coma.

Can we get it back to nice & tidy again?

- Bob

lol :D

im guessing its to help search engine ranking. looks like an attempt to get some good keywords up at the top of the page where they carry more relevance.

Maybe if they just did it as text near the top of the page...not that knowledgeable about search engines.

And it certainly doesn't have to be in the breadcrumbs!

Wonder why they're trying to get higher in search engines. I'd like to think it's out of the goodness of their hearts - but - probably to drive more traffic to their advertisers. The almighty dollar rules again.

For some reason I thought this was a nonprofit site - or whatever you call it, a user group or something. If it is they should do a paypal donation thing - I'd certainly chip in - IF they tidied up the title and breadcrumbs!

They already have prefered status with google, don't need to resort to that sort of trick. Besides it has been a long time since search engines and page ranking worked in such a simplistic way, that is why you no longer get all the sex sites if you google for 'french cooking' or whatever.

What, french cooking? It's not all it's cracked up to be. I prefer Italian myself.

Great. Do you think they'll make this textarea wide enough that you can see what you're doing if I ask nicelt?
'S OK when I'm typing text, like now, but when I quote someones code to edit it, the thing is so narrow that I can't see what is what. There's plenty of room on this page to double the column count.
