Hi!

How do I find an appropriate copyright/disclaimer for a product I will be start selling soon.

Like :

I cannot be held responsible for any misfortunes caused by XXX product...

Is it legal to just copy a disclaimer that any other selling site has that suits my site and product? And if I alter that text, what happens?

Thank you for your help.

Your safest option is to talk to a lawyer.

yeah if you feel your product needs a disclaimer, you should consult a lawyer.

every product is unique, and comes with unique liabilities.

that and having a disclaimer doesnt neccesarily mean your off the hook for everything.

It can't be that harmless if you're thinking about getting some kind of limited liability statement for it

If it's software you can find some jargon online to use that you probably wouldn't have to alter too much (just look around). If it's a physical product get an attorney or somebody will do something like put it on the heater and then burn their house down and then sue you for all you got...
