how to install php3

hi all,
I'm new to this php.I want to do some coding in php3.
How do i have to install php3.which is the website shd i look in for.For running the apache server which version shd i use ?which will be compatible with php3?how to install mysql for the database?Shd i download all these and save it in some common directory?
How shall i proceed?
Any help for this newbie would be appreciated?

because my server supports only php3

Your server supports PHP3 but not 4? I didn't know there were drastically different requirements...
