I have developed an application delivery system which is now in beta. quick features list:

True dns session management, no cookies, don't believe me check it out.
Template driven, content seperated from templates
Set a template to a group which can be overriden on a page by page basis
Control access by groups (as with pages) to full blown lamp applications such as phpmyadmin, squirrelmail etc. if its lamp compatible its wads compatible :-)
Create quick hacks, without worrying about session, user or templates, just write your solution and its part of the system :-)
In memory structures used for lighting fast delivery of your marketing message, no db access made till you go session mode
All this and a little more achieved in an incredible 18k of php code
