What d'ya think of it? leatherback 06-15-2005, 01:43 PM Hwy are there no negative options in th epoll. I personally refuse to use these systems. Part of it is spamming (Sending your web address to lot of people, in the hope that [part of them comes to your site, thus generating traffic) and because I still believe firmly in having a good product. I do not do well ion search engines. Granted. Except of course my personal website, which I abandoned 5 years ago, and still reaches high scores (Top 5) My prof. domain doesn't get high hits in search engines (~10-20) but does get appr. 10-20 000 visitors /month trough links & webrings. So I see no need. J. Elizabeth 06-15-2005, 01:45 PM I'm not sure if this is blatant spam, but I think the whole deal looks like a load of cr*p and I wouldn't associate with them if THEY paid ME. goldbug 06-15-2005, 02:32 PM Looks like spam to me. (Note there aren't any negative choices in the poll, as leatherback pointed out.) davidjam 06-15-2005, 02:42 PM Option 1: 2 + 2 = 5 Option 2: I think option 1 is great Option 3: There's just no comparing to that wonderful option 1 OK, you pick! (or it's room 101 and your greatest fear  ) Elizabeth 06-15-2005, 03:07 PM Originally posted by goldbug (Note there aren't any negative choices in the poll, as leatherback pointed out.) Consider the poll approriately edited :) leatherback 06-15-2005, 04:24 PM Originally posted by Elizabeth Consider the poll approriately edited :) I knew I could trust you to refocus the poll . Almu.. you got your answer I suppose? You do not spent several $$ on spam filters, and subsequently several minutes a day skimming through true/flase emails, I suppose? J. vaaaska 06-15-2005, 05:32 PM There is a gambling link in the sign. This is spam...it should be deleted. I spent some time last week fighting with comment spam that was all about online gambling. I did some reading around and apparently the biggest spam thing ever is going on right now (comment, referrer, trackback, forum spams). They even got their name dropped in a legitimate article in Wired (online) - I think it's the most coordinated effort to-date. Elizabeth 06-15-2005, 05:37 PM Unfortunately I don't think we can alter a sig- as long as it abides by the general guidelines. I'll have to check that out. My understanding was that your sig can basically be whatever you want. leatherback 06-15-2005, 06:20 PM Speaking of sig -> How to you make a link in it? HTML is switched off? I placed it in one of these forums, but no response :( They really don't like me J. Elizabeth 06-15-2005, 07:01 PM Originally posted by leatherback Speaking of sig -> How to you make a link in it? And of course we like you - but only because of your pink elephant. (Wait, that didn't come out exactly right.) leatherback 06-15-2005, 07:09 PM Hm.. Thx elizabeth. Pink.. Pink... Where did I see that? Oh.. Yeah.. See poll! ;) Elephants.. Do you know.. I actually submitted a research proposal to the EU last week, to work with Elephants in Kenya for a few years, for Oxford University. So.. I am going to work with ele's untill I see pink of the heat, I suppose! -granted, the money needs to be granted first- PHP Builder
