My eyes must be going on me. either that, or the option is not available.

this is a v-bulletin board, yes? i seem to recall in other similar forums the ability to have a default setting of "subscribe to your posts". i don't see it in the user CP options. is it there somewhere and i'm just missing it?

When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.

Default Thread Subscription Mode:
- no subscript
- all default
- once a week
- once a day
- every message
No less than 5 options

ah ha! yes, it was the "default" setting i sought. i was aware of the "thread tools", hence my inquiry of the preference for subscriptions by default.

somehow i managed to scan over it each time i looked there. that is weird. thanks for the help.
