Hi,

My members will be webmasters.

Part of the website I'm building involves knowing automatically how important is a website compare to another.

For example, let's say Google.com and Ask.com were both members of my website (yeah right...).
Let's say Google is more important than Ask.com. Google would have a better rating on my website.
Now how to know that?

First I thought, let's use traffic. But it would require people to install a script on their website and also use a lot of my ressources.

Then I thought of using Google PageRank.
This script ( http://www.googlecommunity.com/scripts/google-pagerank.php ) will return google's pagerank.
The only problem is that I heard that pageRank doesn't mean much anymore (people cheat their rank somehow...)

what do you think?

english - swedish
apple - apel, äpple ( aepple )
orange - apelsin

originally the word for orange was, in swedish: apel from kina ( apple from china )
by time this is now 'apelsin'

oranges did not grow in Sweden, but apples did.
When there was a new round orange coloured fruit was coming from China
the swedish said it was an apple, but the new sort from china
so became by time the swedish word for orange : APELSIN

/halojoy - likes apel better than apelsin

:o

From your description it sounds like you're not hosting them - which rules out a whole class of possibilities (based on your access to server logs). So if you do find something better than Google's PageRank, you might consider selling it to them.

Just use personal preference.

"I visited your site, and it sUX0r3d!" :D

That's what they say about mine ;)
