Hi guys!

I just created my site after 2 months of work and its ready, officially open but i havent advertised it yet so no members.

Its a freelancer/webmaster network, or at least aims to be where webmasters post projects of sites they need creating and freelancer programmers bid on how much they would be prepared to pay to do the project. The winning bid supposedly gets the job. I guess its similar to ********afreelancer.com, but NO COMMISSION FEES! All the current sites like mine charge like 10% commission and dont allow you to talk outside of their site, banning people posting email addresses etc.

My site gets rid of that by charging the webmaster $1 a week to post a project with no commission or any other charges. Pay $5 and have unlimited posting time as well as commuication tools with members!

Please help me launch the site, its brand new and hasnt been used so im looking for people to help debug it and find problem. Need so build the user base so we can get the netwrok running, as soon as people sign up, we can get the ball rolling.

I need you guys to signup and spread the word to people and lets get a great programmer/webmaster network going!

www.needsite.net

Thanks

Just a suggestion... the activation email you get? Admittedly my client blocked the background images, but I unblocked them to have a look and I couldn't read the actual email. You don't actually need the images there.

You need to select Non HTML Mail if you cant view HTML mail?

Er.. not sure what you mean you cant see? there is only one image: the logo.

Thanks for feedback so far.

Well, it was tiled in my email... If you set the image as a background and the image isn't big enough to fill the page, then it will tile itself.

hmm
that should happen at all..

I think i set the background to no-repeat in CSS.

ALso there should be sep cells for the logo and the body.. strange..

OK update:

Defo is set to no repeat and is displaying fine on mine.. looks to be client side for ya.. maybe the email provider's problem?

Bah. I can't middle-click the top links to open them up in Firefox. :D

I'm having the same issue piersk is; Gmail is repeating the logo in the background. Why not just place the logo in as an image rather than a background?

Apart from that, here's some other issues I came across:

The first time I typed in my Yahoo! S/N it didn't work (I typed in "logankriete@yahoo.com" and it registered my S/N as "yahoo")
One of the skills is labeled "Marketing" but displays as "Internet Marketing / Website Promotion". "Marketing" by itself is a lot different than both "Internet Marketing" and "Website Promotion"
When I went to edit my profile, all of my previously-checked skills were checked except for "Marketing". It mysteriously became unchecked.
The passwords are encrypted in the DB, right? It showed up as plaintext in the e-mail, so I'm just checking... ;)
Finally, the "1 New Message" (or "X New Messages") text should be linked to either the inbox for more than 1 new message, or should link straight to the new message if there's only 1 new message.

That's it! Really great idea you got going here! Good luck!

Um... I hope you meant "... to get paid to do the project..." I don't know many programmers that would pay a client to do a job. ;)

Good luck with that site. I have a site similar to that but for a totally different market. Good luck with it and the look hurt my eyes a bit, but it's safe to say I might be going blind.
