Hello I wanted to compete with myspace.com because they are monopolizing the computing industry, and I am indeed jealous.

Sorry, this is a job offer and that is strictly against the rules here.

that site would be gigantic for 1.

secondly that price you would pay would be huge unless you know how to code and can get a base done.

secondly the money to keep it up would be alot so getting a good server and host. a good 500 bux a month is going to be the cheap side.

not to mention there are other sites out there and they don't make money (or enough to be hugely rich). the reason Tom is rich or well off is because another company bought them out. what i say is to either learn to code it yourself (will take you a long time) or get some kind of venture capital to get you started and get the site up. but trust me. you would need alot.

i don't want to burst your bubble because if you can manage it then rock it.

best of luck bro

You are asking a lot. This would become a very large project because of the securities involved, programming for the hackers in mind, banning properties, search words being used to check for predators, etc.

At least a 6 month project to get it right.

Hosting with unlimited bandwidth and unlimited storage because of chatrooms and file sharing such as images and audios.

"I am a very good marketer and I know I can take myspace.com down the drain if I get help from the right person."

Well, that "right person" had better have a big fat bank account because it would take at least 25 million dollars to come close to getting a site such as myspace up and running and then you better have another 25 million to keep you going until it really takes off.

I have been in one of their facilities which is quite close to where I live and they have got at least 200 people sitting there cranking out code.

They recently had an ad for programmers in my local newspaper and they were offering a starting salary of $75,000.00.

You don't just throw a site like myspace together in a week or two and you don't do it unless you have a really good development team of top notch people. These poeple aren't going to work for nothing.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I don't think there is a very good chance you are going to find anyone who comes to this forum who will be in a position to help you in your pursuit.

Good Luck

Maybe you could just write to Myspace and ask them to send you their code. Then all you'd need to do would be change the graphics. Tell them it's for a school project or something.

Anyway, back in the real world, I've been thinking of releasing a new kernel called Doors. Still waiting for a response back from Microsoft though.

April Fool isn't for another month, y'know ;)

I asked for help tutoring me, and I offered to pay, but I guess half of you don't understand where I am coming from. Not only am I learning programming I am also implementing something I would like to do. I want to try and bring them down so I would like to ask someone to truly help me.

My phone number is [edited out by mod] Please I beg you.

[mod's note]
For one, job offers are not allowed on this board, and this is pretty much that, so bye bye post.

Secondly, no personal information such as phone numbers and addresses are allowed to be posted on here (why would you do that anyway?) just ask people to PM you if they're interested.

This is complete besides the point of being able to market. I really know I can. I just need someone to teach me, or even help me how to php code it. I know how to do html, and designing. But the php coding and implementing the thoughts and ideas and accumulating it with the design would be something that will confuse me immensely.

truthfully, a project like that cant be explained (or would take a while o explain) through aim! You will need to at least buy a code and start off by that!

I've been told by very prominent members of the programming community that MySpace was coded by monkeys and kittens.

Best place for you to start is the php manual. Then start coding.

You're asking people you don't know to hand you the code knowledge you need to take down a multi million dollar internet monster, and you call that marketing?

Can anyone write me a program that does all the things microsoft programs do. I will market it and take over the WOLRD!!!!! (I will include you in the Credits .. honest)

Piranha
11-09-2006, 03:02 PM
Oh, as long as I am included in the credits I don't mind spending months to program without getting payed. And since you have such a good business model I really trust your idea :p

Funny thread, the funniest thing is that the thread starter probably was seriuos.

But I am serious too. All you have to do is write a program with the usual stuff (spelling check, fonts, colors, sending e-mails) and all that, I have this amazing plan to sell it to the whole world and become the new microsoft.
I will put your name IN BOLD TYPE (when you click on the little credits icon hidden somewhere at the top) and when I am stinking rich, I may even invite you to join me on my island. But not for too long, you computer people stifle my amazing conceptively far out brain, and will probably cramp my style and motivation.

Isn't "chinchaste" mexican spanish for "you fell for it"????????

Weedpacket
11-10-2006, 04:51 AM
Apparently, it' s a conjugation of the verb "chinchar" - in English, "bother". At least, that's what I'm getting out of Google's babelfish. So "chinchaste" would be "you bothered".

I like that.

Meanwhile, from some of the other "chinchaste" threads Google threw up, it sounds like we may have a MySpace killer cooking out there....
