gd2 installaton on linux

Hay i am new to linux !!!
I want to install gd2 library on my linux server using ssh, Please tell me where i shoud keep my gd2 linrary and how to install it on server

Hi,

do you have a dedicated server or a shared server ? Which Linux version is installed ?

Depending on the OS installed it might be easier to download and install the gd2 package and php-gd package if available. This way you won't have to compile stuff yourself.

I have only 10 GB of space so i think its a shared server its not a dedicated server. I don't how to check which linux is installed
Can you please help me how to find this?

Are you sure that gd2 isn't already installed ? Please create a phpinfo() script and post the output.

yes, i have checked it and its not there....

Are the tools neccessary to compile gd2 installed (gcc, make, ...) ? Do you have root access to the server ? Please post the output of a phpinfo script (at least the first section showing the system info and the configure arguments. Those configure arguments are the base for recompiling any modules that may depend on the gd2 library. Besides that check if the gd2 php extension already exists. It might be disabled.
