Hi,

Can anyone recommend a pre-packaged php,MySQL,Apache webserver suite for local development?

Hi,

I'd recommend xampp (http://www.xampp.org). That package should contain everything you need.

Well depending on your PC or Mac or Linux (OS system) there are XAMPP which provides the latest PHP Apache MySQL and Perl as well as phpMyAdmin and Mercury Mailserver, also FileZilla FTP server, WAMP is almost the same but no Perl, MAMP is for those that use Mac Machines. Xampp or WAMP will install effortlessly with Windows or Linux systems...if ou have a Mac then Google MAMP.
