Hello all,
Thought I'd share this with you all. Might give some hope to people out there who are struggling with php.

A while back I ended up doing a website for a small business. I did this as a freebie for some experience. This required the use of php to do an online ordering system. It took me ages to figure it all out and I hadn't even discovered this forum at the time!!

Eventually I managed to finish it and put it live. It did okay and I was happy with the hours I'd spent on it.

I decided to have another look the other day at what I had coded a couple of years back. To say the least this was an embarasing experience. The design of the site looked horrible and the code was a disaster area. If any of you experienced phpers has seen it then you may have spat your tea out!

The point is that I look back now and realise how much I've progressed in only two years. I'd suggest to anyone to have a look back at code they did a while back and I'll bet you'll wonder why you didn't do it another way.

Remembering how you spent so much time trying to find out what a stupid error meant and how to fix it will bring a smile to your face I'm sure.

Learning is hard but looking back is harder. :queasy:

I definitely agree with you abc123 :), it's a great experience and when you do it you really capture the scope of what you have learnt.
