Does anybody know of any good software for managing client and project information?
For example, invoices, project specs and so on. Either opensource or not, I don't have a strong preference either way.
While I'm asking, is there any good management software for PHP? IE. to help with multiple users and versions etc.
Thanks in advance.

If you want to manage client invoices and the like then you definitely need a real accounting package like Quickbooks or Sage. Now good ones are few and far between and I don't know an OpenSource one for this that I would trust - money is just too important.
I know QB has all sorts of facilities for CRM that few people use and there are lots of extensions around for specific industries etc - but I'm not pushing it as I'm no big fan.
Project management software like MS Project will be no use to you for the accounting function, none at all.
So, start with the accounting function and then see what is included in terms of billable hours, project costing, etc.
There are some version control systems on SourceForge but I can't recommend any as I've not tried them out.

We've been using it internally for a while now (1 1/2 years maybe?) and it's been pretty good - not perfect... there were a few things that were a little wonky from a business logic standpoint imho, but it has certainly been worth the price :)
It all depends on your needs, but for us it has worked out well.
