So I'm trying to expose my one computer (my desktop) to the WWW through my Linksys WRT54AG. I've got a dyndns account, and that works perfectly. The problem is my router.

I've got a static IP address on my desktop, and I've got port 80 forwarded to it. I've also got a static route for any external IPs accessing my router IP to be forwarded to my desktop. Problem is, it's not working.

If I use my DynDNS URL, it points me to my router login, not my Apache server that is currently running. I've done a port scan, and port 80 is open on the router. Just not sure why it's not allowing anything to my computer. My firewall is open to the port.

Any ideas? I'm totally stuck here.

Just a guess--do you have remote router management on and going through port 80?

I agree. Get someone on the "outside" to try the IP and see what it comes up with. My money is on the router's admin pages.

hmm.... seems to work from an outside IP. wonder why it does the loopback if I try from behind the router....

Hang on, are you trying to connect to the external IP (via DynDNS), rather than the IP of the server?

Basically, what I'm trying to do is this:

Server behind the router. Laptop says go to: domain.dyndns.org which points to my computer. The request comes back to the router, which is then passed on to the server.

Now I would have thought that it would work like that, but apparently it doesn't. As an example, I've attached a network setup. Basically, I'd like to have each computer call the domain, and then have everything on my server work like a server. But if I'm local, it can't get past the Router Admin page.
