Hi everyone! I would like to discuss some topic which is rather popular nowadays.
What is your opinion about all this internet services and purchasing goods online?
I am a little bit concerned about it, if everything is honest and they can not piss you down?
I suggest to exchange links on reliable the Internet shops. Thank you in advance.

Personally I think there are way too many sites to start a list, which would be completely useless, unless you start a webservice online, and people can get a 'validated' tag from your website. I personally just check for secure connections, and -if dealing with a new comp- I do a quick search on the internet for the feedback they have gotten.

In the end, you can always get frauds, whether you higher a painter or buy online. Granted, on the internet frauds get away much easier, but just keep your eyes open when dealing on the internet.

I am more worried about my debit card being sniffed in an ATM transaction.

You should be more worried about your card details being lifted by some minimum wage peon in your utility suppliers' call centre. The truth the banks never want you to know is that most frauds are perpetrated from the inside not by hackers on the outside. That is where most of the identity theft is happening - in Indian call centres where you can but peoples details for as little as $100 a 100: $100 being 1 months wages for a well-paid graduate in India. If they don't want to go to Bangalore then the crooks just take a job in any call centre and lift all they need from work every day.

As to online shopping, I do a whois on the domain name to see who they are, where they are and how long they have been trading; and then rely on my card protection and would charge-back anything that did not arrive (never happened so far). Automatic charge-back is a condition of online payment processing with Visa/Mastercharge so you really have little to loose from online fraud.
