I am new to php and i just went to php.net to install the latest php version 5. When i followed the instructions on how to install php it still did not work! I want to install php version 5 on my windows xp pro iis 5.1 system (not APACHE). Can somone help me install this onto my computer or point me to a great tutorial on how to do it on Windows XP Pro using IIS 5.1 as i did not understand the installation on php.net?

i did not understand the installation on php.net?You didn't understand install.windows.iis and install.windows.manual ?

Explain everything you've done thus far and which part you're confused about; I'll try to spell it out in plain(er) English if I can.

Ok first of all i downloaded the php5 installer and the zip package and then i installed everything. When i start the install do i install it as CGI or ISAPI? It also says to go to Internet Services Manager is this the same thing as iis if it's not i can't find it. This is what it said, PHP may be installed as a CGI binary, or with the ISAPI module. In either case, you need to start the Microsoft Management Console (may appear as 'Internet Services Manager', either in your Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack branch or the Control Panel=>Administrative Tools under Windows 2000/XP). Then right click on your Web server node (this will most probably appear as 'Default Web Server'), and select 'Properties'. I did all that but i still couldn't find Internet Services Manager. So i skipped that part and went on with the installation and i did everything they said starting with the manual install. when it was all said and done i ran a test page from my computer at home and it said something about not finding modules i forget because im at work right now. When i install it here at work first it gave me blank screen and now it's saying the page cannot be displayed. I am so lost. I need help!!!!!!
