I was wondering what managers and other developers that review code are looking for in code samples. Are some examples not good to send? Should certain types of examples be sent? Should you include OOP code or are procedural examples better?

Any input from anyone who has sent code to an employer and received feedback or any developers/managers who have reviewed code and have some insight would be great.

Thanks!

I've never really understood why people want to see code samples. It's hardly an accurate way of guaging someones skills.

Anyway, employers would want to see good code. That does not mean one coding paradigm over another, rather well written, optimised and documented code. If they mention OOP as a job requirement then it might be worth demonstrating that. Or plaguerising it, since they won't know the difference anyway.
